Historic Garmisch
The guide was updated:There is much to discover in Historic Garmisch. Walk along Frühlingsstraße and the nearby alleys and listen to the histories told by the famous "Lüftl" paintings on the houses' facades, in which you will understand them even if you do not know any Bavarian.
A nice detour leads you to the “Alte Kirche” (Old Church), which is a nice Romanesque-Gothic church dating back to the 13th century.

Nearby, you will also find the local Werdenfels Museum. Miraculously, the former merchant’s building was not impaired by the Big Blaze of 1865. Nowadays, history and ancient customs of the Werdenfels Region are exhibited in the five-storyed house.
